Glenerry Elementary School Replacement
Overview
Glenerry Elementary is a new 2-storey, 26,000 sq. ft. replacement school in Trail, BC, serving up to 500 students and including a full gymnasium. We delivered the HVAC contract including sheet metal, plumbing, controls, and commissioning.
The Challenge
Schools require mechanical systems that provide reliable comfort and ventilation across a wide range of occupancy types — individual classrooms, a gymnasium, and shared spaces — while remaining straightforward to operate and maintain by school district facilities staff.
Our Solution
Two air source heat pumps provide primary heating and cooling, supported by six backup boilers for secondary heating. A full hydronic system, including primary and secondary loops, heat exchangers, buffer tanks, and pumps, ties the system together. Each classroom is served by a dedicated unit ventilator providing heating, cooling, and ventilation. A separate AHU serves the gymnasium. The school has been in operation since September 2025.
